British nü-gaze outfit Split Chain have unveiled “Subside”, the third track to surface from their upcoming debut album motionblur. The full-length is set to arrive July 11th via Epitaph Records.
“Subside” arrives with an emotionally charged message, as vocalist Bert Martinez-Cowles explains:
“‘Subside’ is a call-out song to the antagonists in everybody’s life. It’s a break out from the judgemental, close-minded people who consistently try to bring you down to their shitty level. ‘Subside’ is the realisation that you are under no obligation to anyone and owe nothing to any of those people. Free yourself from the dead weight in your life and allow yourself to grow past them so you can thrive and live life in a way that works for you.”
The song’s official video was once again directed by Zak Pinchin (Loathe, Bury Tomorrow), continuing the band’s creative collaboration with the visual artist.
In support of the upcoming album, Split Chain are currently out on a North American run alongside Tarantula, with select dates featuring Better Lovers:
04/30 Washington, DC – Union Stage
05/01 Philadelphia, PA – Foto Club
05/02 New Jersey – w/ Better Lovers
05/03 Toronto, ON – Hard Luck
05/04 Clinton, MI – Edgemen
05/06 Chicago, IL – Beat Kitchen
05/07 Columbus, OH – Ace Of Cups
