Hardcore outfit Experience have issued a follow-up statement confirming that Brady Ebert is no longer part of the band, directly addressing his recent arrest and the fallout surrounding it.
Ebert—formerly of Turnstile and The S.E.T.—is currently in custody facing charges of attempted second-degree murder and first-degree assault stemming from a March 29th incident involving William Yates, the father of Turnstile vocalist Brendan Yates. Authorities allege Ebert intentionally struck the 79-year-old with a vehicle following a confrontation, resulting in severe injuries.
After initially releasing a more general statement earlier in the week, the band returned on April 10th with a clearer stance on Ebert’s status:
“There’s a difference between acknowledging what Brady meant to us and excusing what happened. What he did is fucked up. Plain and simple.”
The band confirmed that Ebert has officially been removed from the lineup:
“Brady is no longer a member of this band.”
They also noted that the situation has been difficult to process, particularly given the time and effort invested into their upcoming material:
“We spent months building this record together… and then one decision changed everything.”
Experience further explained that they have not yet been able to communicate directly with Ebert due to his current circumstances:
“Right now, he isn’t allowed visitors or phone calls, so we haven’t been able to have that conversation.”
Emphasizing the broader impact of the situation, the band pointed to those most affected:
“At the center of all of this are real people dealing with real trauma, especially the Yates family. That’s what matters most.”
Despite the upheaval, Experience intend to move forward with the planned June release of their 12-song EP Stay Present, a project they previously described as being centered around mindfulness and confronting reality in real time.
The band had first introduced Ebert as part of their lineup shortly after his departure from The S.E.T. in February, but his tenure has now come to an abrupt end following the recent events.
As of now, legal proceedings involving Ebert are ongoing.
